How You Can Have a Voice

Microphone over the Abstract blurred photo of conference hall or seminar room backgroundThe Cumberland County Board of Education welcomes comments from the public and provides numerous opportunities for citizens to voice their opinions on issues affecting public education. Persons wishing to publicly speak to the full Board may do so at the regularly scheduled meeting on the second Tuesday of each month.  A public comment session is held during the 6:30 p.m. meeting.

Comments are limited to three minutes per speaker in order to allow all interested persons equal opportunity to speak. Individuals requesting to speak during the public comment period may sign up using the following link: https://forms.gle/UseDm527YCqexYen6, which will be accessible starting at noon on Board meeting days and remain open until 6:15 p.m. To facilitate the sign-up process, CCS will provide an electronic device at each Board meeting, and staff will be on hand to assist individuals. A pen and paper option will be available upon request.  The cut-off time to sign up to speak during the public comment period is 6:15 p.m.

Concerns related to individual personnel and students are received by administrative staff, not in a public meeting of the Board. Please feel free to contact any appropriate administrative official in this regard.

Citizens may also choose to attend various Board committee meetings usually held two weeks before the regular Board meeting.  The Board committees receive information and consider agenda items for recommendation to the full board.  To confirm meeting dates and times, please call 678.2300.
